Tax Parity Day – 25th September
September 25, 2013
We are delighted to be participating in Tax Parity Day on Wednesday 25th September.
For one day only we will be reducing our prices charged to the consumer by 7.5% to promote the benefits if the government reduced VAT in the hospitality sector. As a St Austell Brewery tenant we will be funding the day ourselves.
Tax Parity Day has been organised by the VAT Club Jacques Borel which campaigns to reduce the rate of VAT applying to pubs, bars, restaurants, caterers and hotels. Pubs and restaurants pay 20% VAT on food and drinks whilst supermarkets pay 0% on food. The inequality means supermarkets can sell food at a lower level than pubs and restaurants. If you would like to find out more visit http://www.staustellbrewery.co.uk/company/news/1253-brewery-joins-tax-parity-day.html
So vote with your feet and support this initiative! We are open all day serving drinks from 11:30am until close! We will be serving food all day from 11:30am until 21:00pm
